Scottish Food Fortnight to launch at Glamis Castle Print E-mail

Scottish Food Fortnight will be launched by the Scottish Countryside Alliance Educational Trust (SCAET) at Scotland’s Countryside Festival, Glamis Castle from Friday 5th to Sunday 7th September. 

Notable events:

Friday 5th September:

Launch by Richard Lochhead MSP.  On SCAET’s first ever Countryside Day for 1000 schoolchildren - first and second year secondary pupils from schools in Angus, Dundee, Perth and Kinross, Aberdeenshire and Fife who have been invited to enjoy an interactive day at the castle, where they will see falconry, terrier and gun dog displays and fly fishing demonstrations. They will also learn about conservation, climate change and food made with local Scottish produce. 

Saturday 6th/Sunday 7th September:

Cooking demonstrations by five talented chefs:

Sunday 7th September:

‘Smoothie Off’ – grand final of the Smoothest Smoothie in Scotland competition. Finalists from all over Scotland will make their smoothie for a panel of judges and then winners will be presented with prizes.  Other events will take place during Scottish Food Fortnight at the Scottish Parliament and elsewhere, including 39 Farmers Markets across Scotland.
