Wolfstone to make Celtic Rock return Print E-mail

This year’s line up for the Celtic Rock concert was announced yesterday at Glamis Castle. The event, on 5th September, will feature Wolfstone, who were hugely popular last year, and Donnie Munro, the former front man of Runrig, with the Donnie Munro Band. Starting off the evening’s entertainment at 6 o’clock is Skerryvore, dubbed the “boy band” of traditional Scottish music.This is the third annual Celtic Rock concert to be held at Glamis Castle.“We have had more people telephoning to ask what is happening this year, earlier than we have ever had before,” organiser Catriona Morrison said.“We are absolutely delighted with the support the event gets each year from all our visitors. We seem to be fast becoming a local tradition.

“For anyone who was there last year, with the music playing and the castle lit up in the twilight, it seems to have been a very special evening.”

Glamis Castle will also be used to launch Scottish Food Fortnight again this year. The event, now in its sixth year, is shaping up to be the biggest and best yet.It will run from 6th to 21st September, with details of the programme being released over the summer.Nicola Chalmers-Watson, Scottish Countryside Alliance educational trust director, said, “Scotland has some of the best food and drink in the world.“Our fresh produce and our meat, game and fish is prized by the best chefs across the globe.

“Scottish Food Fortnight is about encouraging everyone in Scotland to make the most of our amazing larder”.
