SCAET main projects

Our vision is for a viable and sustainable future for Scotland’s countryside through improving young people’s awareness and knowledge of, and access to, our rural areas and to promote an informed understanding of the value of the countryside to lifelong health, quality of life and social well being.

To achieve this we provide the following services for young people and organisations:

  • Countryside days
  • Next Generation Country days
  • Moorland and Estate visits
  • Scottish Angling Leaders Award training
  • National Angling Induction Centres
  • Castaways online angling club
  • Volunteer development
  • Youth and outreach programme
  • SCAET to schools
  • Healthy eating programme
  • Moorlandscotland.org.uk website

Our activities underline the necessity of promoting the countryside as a place offering leisure, healthy living, affordable and nutritious foods and employment opportunities, especially to young people, but also look to raise motivation and confidence, improve self esteem and give young people social, individual, entrepreneurial and community skills.
